Former spymaster Faiz Hamid’s brother has been sent to jail in the corruption case. In a significant development, Naib Tehsildar Najaf Hamid, brother of former ISI chief retired Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid, has been remanded to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi for 14 days.
This decision was made by a local court in Rawalpindi following the rejection of his post-arrest bail plea by a special anti-corruption court.
Faiz Hamid’s brother sent to jail in corruption case
Najaf Hamid sought pre-arrest bail from the court of Senior Civil Judge Waqar Hussain Gondal after his initial bail plea was dismissed.
However, the judge ruled in favor of Najaf’s transfer to judicial lockup, citing the serious nature of the allegations against him as non-bailable offenses.

He is slated to appear before the concerned court on April 1, 2024, along with a report under Section 173 Cr.P.C.
Repeated Attempts for Bail Unsuccessful
Earlier attempts by Najaf to secure pre-arrest interim bail were met with failure, as the court rejected his request and subsequently dismissed his post-arrest bail plea.
Consequently, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Rawalpindi circle officials took Najaf into custody.

The anti-corruption department of Punjab confirmed Najaf’s arrest, highlighting that it was based on concrete evidence gathered during investigations, which substantiated the allegations against him.
