KPK unveils Rs8 Billion Ramadan Relief Package. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a comprehensive relief package valued at Rs8 billion, aimed at providing crucial support to its citizens during the sacred month of fasting.
Ramadan Relief Package
Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance, Muzammil Aslam, revealed that funds have been allocated for the initiative, with an additional Rs5 billion allocated to restart the health card program.
Each deserving family is set to receive Rs10,000 under this scheme, aiming to alleviate financial burdens during Ramadan.
Criticism Directed at Sindh and Punjab Governments
Aslam also took the opportunity to critique the governments of Sindh and Punjab, stating that their relief packages of Rs3,500 and Rs5,000 respectively fall short in comparison to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s initiative.
Eligibility Criteria Outlined
Eligibility for the Relief Package is set for families with a monthly income below Rs27,000, ensuring that those most in need receive assistance during this holy month.
Additional Initiatives in Punjab
In addition to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa relief package, the Punjab government launched the Ramadan Nigehban Package earlier this month.
This program involves distributing special hampers containing essential daily use items to deserving families.
The unveiling of this comprehensive relief package underscores the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s commitment to supporting its citizens, ensuring that families facing financial constraints can observe the holy month without undue stress.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm), prayer (salah), reflection, and community.
