Why Nahid Rana Has Not Applied for PSL NOC Extension

Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana has not applied for a new No Objection Certificate (NOC) to continue participating in the ongoing 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had previously issued Rana an NOC valid until April 13. However, sources said the pacer has not submitted any fresh request for an extension, citing workload management considerations.

Officials indicated that if Rana decides to seek an extension, the BCB will review the situation and make a decision based on team commitments and player workload.

Player movement due to international commitments

Several Bangladeshi players were earlier forced to leave the PSL midway due to international duties, including preparations for the New Zealand series.

In Lahore, fellow pacer Mustafizur Rahman also featured in the league and was granted his NOC in two phases. His initial clearance allowed him to play until April 12, after which he was again issued an NOC starting April 24 following Bangladesh’s ODI commitments against the New Zealand national cricket team.

Team participation in PSL

Nahid Rana represented Peshawar Zalmi, while Mustafizur Rahman played for Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing season.

Sources added that player availability in franchise leagues continues to depend heavily on international scheduling, with boards balancing workload management and league commitments.
