Delhi police dig at Shadab’s missed catch

Pakistan lose No 1 ODI rankings within 48 hours

Shadab’s missed catch is mocked by the Indian Police with a traffic safety message.

The Asia Cup 2022 final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka included Shadab Khan and Asif Ali colliding on the field, and the Delhi Police Department of India exploited the incident to promote road safety.

In the 19th over of the first innings, while attempting to catch a skier hit by Sri Lankan hitter Bhanuka Rajapaksa, two Pakistani cricketers collided. When Shadab moved in front of Asif, he was just about to grab the catch. As the ball fell over the ropes due to the misplay, a chance to send the raging Rajapaksa back to the pavilion was squandered.

Rajapaksa’s unbeaten 71 helped Sri Lanka win their sixth Asia Cup championship as their lofty 171-run goal proved too much for Pakistan. The dropped catch was mostly held responsible for the loss, according to many Pakistani supporters.

The Delhi Police have poked fun at Pakistan’s team in the video.

“Ae bhai, zara dekh ke chalo,” the Indian Police said in the video’s title to promote road safety.
