Three terrorists have been arrested with bombs and Adiala Jail map in Rawalpindi. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) made a significant announcement on Thursday, revealing the arrest of three individuals suspected of terrorist activities.
Alongside the arrests, law enforcement officials recovered a cache of dangerous items, including a map of Adiala Jail, a hand grenade, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
This development has heightened concerns over security, particularly in the vicinity of Adiala Jail, where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is currently held.
Rawalpindi’s Chief Police Officer (CPO), Khalid Hamdani, disclosed that during the operation, authorities also seized automatic weapons and ammunition from the suspects.
The swift action prompted a thorough search operation around Adiala Jail, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
Of notable concern is the revelation that the arrested individuals are reportedly of Afghan origin, underscoring the cross-border implications of such security threats.
Investigations into their affiliations and motives are currently underway.
This latest incident comes against the backdrop of a previous security scare on November 7, 2023, when an explosive device was discovered near Adiala Road in Gorakhpur, Rawalpindi, mere kilometers away from Adiala Jail.
Security concerns surrounding the former Prime Minister have been a recurring theme, with all court proceedings being conducted under tight security protocols within the confines of the prison.

Imran Khan’s transfer to Adiala from Attock on September 26, 2023, following an Islamabad High Court order, was orchestrated with meticulous security arrangements.
An 18-vehicle convoy, including multiple Islamabad police vehicles, armored vehicles, and an ambulance, was deployed to ensure his safe passage via the motorway.
