Punjab Orders Govt Schools to Grow Seasonal Vegetables

The Punjab School Education Department has directed government schools across the province to grow seasonal vegetables on their premises and ensure the crops are properly maintained.

In a circular issued to school heads, the department instructed schools to make appropriate arrangements for vegetable cultivation and designate a staff member to supervise the activity.

Schools Directed to Maintain Vegetable Crops

According to the instructions, schools where vegetable production has previously remained unsatisfactory must undertake cultivation again.

School administrations have also been directed to ensure regular watering and proper maintenance of the vegetable crops to support healthy growth.

The department has further instructed schools to share daily photographs documenting the cultivation, care and maintenance of the vegetables.

Headmasters Told to Ensure Compliance

The Punjab School Education Department has directed all headmasters and school administrations to strictly comply with the new instructions.

The initiative requires government schools to actively maintain vegetable-growing areas on their premises, with designated staff responsible for overseeing cultivation and providing regular updates to the department.

Schools will therefore be expected to monitor the condition of their crops and demonstrate compliance through daily photographic updates.
