A hot air balloon has successfully completed a test flight in Naran, one of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s most popular tourist destinations, marking a potential new addition to the region’s growing adventure tourism offerings.
The balloon reached an altitude of around 8,000 feet above sea level during the test flight, giving a bird’s-eye view of the scenic Naran Valley and surrounding mountain landscapes.

The balloon has a capacity of up to five passengers and is being operated by professional experts who have received specialized training in Turkey.

Previous hot air balloon test in Balakot
The latest test flight follows a similar hot air balloon trial conducted last year at Basiya in Balakot, another tourist and historical location in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The earlier trial demonstrated efforts to explore balloon tourism at different locations across the province, particularly areas with strong tourism potential.
The successful Naran hot air balloon test flight could now pave the way for the activity to be formally introduced for tourists, subject to the completion of necessary operational and safety requirements.
