Pakistan Launches Mango Diplomacy 2026 With 34.5 Tonnes Sent to 76 Countries

Pakistan is set to begin dispatching nearly 34.5 tonnes of premium mangoes to 76 countries from July 2 as part of the government’s Mango Diplomacy 2026 initiative, aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and promoting the country’s agricultural exports.

According to official documents issued by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, the mango consignments will be sent on behalf of the prime minister to foreign heads of state, governments, and international dignitaries.

Details of the Diplomatic Consignments

The initiative involves the export of 34,480 kilograms of mangoes, packed in 6,896 boxes, each weighing five kilograms. Authorities have confirmed that the shipments are strictly diplomatic in nature and carry no commercial value.

The mangoes will be supplied by MG Agri Foods Private Limited, a Khanewal-based exporter known for premium fruit handling, while Al Raaziq International Private Limited has been appointed as the official freight forwarding partner.

Countries Receiving the Largest Shipments

Among the top recipients, Saudi Arabia will receive 3,500 kilograms of mangoes, followed by Türkiye with 2,250 kilograms. The United Kingdom and China will each receive 2,000 kilograms.

Other major recipients include Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, each allocated 1,500 kilograms, while Bahrain will receive 1,375 kilograms and the United States 1,250 kilograms.

Kuwait and Oman are listed for 1,000 kilograms each, Iran for 875 kilograms, and Kazakhstan for 800 kilograms.

Airports and Logistics Arrangements

Officials have indicated that the bulk of the shipments will be dispatched through Allama Iqbal International Airport, Multan International Airport, and Islamabad International Airport, subject to flight availability.

The Department of Plant Protection, customs authorities, airport management, and the Anti-Narcotics Force have been instructed to ensure seamless clearance and handling of the diplomatic cargo.

Soft Diplomacy and Export Promotion

Government officials say the Mango Diplomacy initiative is designed to project a positive image of Pakistan while showcasing the country’s world-renowned mango varieties on the global stage.

By gifting Pakistani mangoes to international leaders, the government aims to combine soft diplomacy with agricultural promotion, reinforcing Pakistan’s identity as a leading producer of high-quality fruit.

The official correspondence emphasizes that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement and promote its agricultural excellence without commercial intent.
