Two Held in India Over 'Made in Pakistan' Label on Madrassa Fan

Two men were briefly detained for questioning after police were alerted to a ceiling fan inside a madrassa that allegedly carried a “Made in Pakistan” label, officials said on Sunday.

The issue gained attention after a photograph of the fan was widely shared on social media. And that led to calls for a detailed investigation by some users.

According to officials, those called in for questioning included the madrassa manager. Police initiated an inquiry after the image circulated online and concerns were raised about the origin of the fan.

Police begin inquiry after viral image

The investigation was led by Vinay Mishra, Station House Officer of Vishunpura Police Station. He said officers examined the matter from all angles.

But during the inquiry, police established that the fan had been purchased from Saudi Arabia.

Purchase documents verified

The individuals questioned by police produced purchase-related documents to support their claim. Officers reviewed the paperwork and cross-checked the details.

After verification, police found no irregularities or suspicious elements linked to the fan.

No further action taken

So, after completing the inquiry, police released both men. Officials said there was no justification for further action once the purchase details were confirmed.

The inquiry was formally closed, with police stating that the matter had been resolved and no wrongdoing had been established.
