The district administration in Islamabad has issued an important public notice announcing the suspension of heavy and public transport across the federal capital until further notice, citing heightened security arrangements.
According to the notification, all major bus terminals in the city have been closed, including Faizabad, Karachi Company, Pirwadhai, and Swan terminals. Citizens have been urged to cooperate with security agencies and follow official instructions during the period of restricted movement.
Security Measures Linked to US-Iran Peace Talks
The transport suspension comes as foreign delegations are expected to arrive in Islamabad for the second round of indirect peace talks between the United States and Iran.
Authorities have tightened security across the capital to ensure safe movement of diplomatic delegations and smooth conduct of the negotiations.
Rawalpindi Businesses Ordered Shut
Earlier, in connection with the same security situation, authorities in Rawalpindi ordered the closure of all businesses from midnight until further notice.
Restaurants, parks, beauty parlours, and markets have been directed to remain closed. In addition, snooker clubs, gyms, pan shops, hair salons, banks, and bakeries have also been shut down.
Strict Enforcement Underway
Police teams have begun distributing warning notices across commercial areas, cautioning business owners against violations. Authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found defying the closure orders.
Officials say the measures are temporary and aimed at maintaining law and order during a sensitive diplomatic phase involving regional and international stakeholders.
