The Supreme Court Registrar’s Office has returned the government’s review petition challenging the order to transfer PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Shifa Hospital.
The petition was returned after the Registrar’s Office raised procedural objections over the documents submitted with the case.
According to sources, the objections were raised on Wednesday.
Paper books missing
One of the main objections was that the required paper books had not been completed and attached to the review petition.
The issue is procedural and concerns the documents accompanying the government’s plea.
Because of these objections, the petition has not yet moved forward for consideration on its merits.
Sharif government challenges Pakistan Supreme Court’s order to shift Imran Khan from a solitary confinement of a jail to a hospital. Two things: Why are they so insecure about a former PM getting proper medical care? Have they lost the support of all powerful army chief, Munir?

Government plans to file again
The government is expected to address the deficiencies and submit the review petition again.
Officials will first complete the required paper books and resolve the objections raised by the Registrar’s Office.
The petition was filed by the Islamabad chief commissioner, seeking a review of the Supreme Court’s order concerning Imran Khan’s transfer from Adiala Jail to Shifa Hospital.
For now, the government’s challenge remains pending at the procedural stage.
Once the required documents are completed and the petition is resubmitted, the Supreme Court will be in a position to consider the government’s review plea.
