Wahab Riaz reveals Shoaib Akhtar’s ‘secret’ friendship with Katrina Kaif.
Former Pakistan fast bowler and chief selector Wahab Riaz has lately opened up about accomplished pacer Shoaib Akhtar involving Bollywood star Katrina Kaif.
Wahab Riaz participated in the popular TV show ‘Hasna Mana Hai’ hosted by famous comedian Tabish Hashmi, during which he was asked about Shoaib’s strange nature of showing off all the time.
The host without mentioning the name of the actress, asked Wahab humorously if Shoaib ever claimed a “deep friendship” between him and that (particular) female star, which left Wahab in giggles.
Responding to the same, Wahab shared the whole story, saying: “Once, from a tour in New Zealand I, Shoaib and some other prominent players were gathered in a room for dinner when the popular song ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ (he mentioned with bit reluctance), randomly played on the television and Shoaib casually said to his teammates that he knew Katrina Kaif and had a friendship with the Bollywood actress. This revelation proved a huge surprise to many players, especially to Mohammad Hafeez, who was consuming food at that time.”
Wahab, despite taking everyone, including the host to laughter fits, added: “None of the players believed Shoaib’s claim, and some even doubted his story.”
After being offended by their strange reactions, Wahab shared that Shoaib Akhtar asked the players to exit the room quickly stating, “You all think I’m lying.”
Wahab also noted that Shoaib had a long-standing connection to Bollywood, having played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008.
Shoaib is often seen as a close friend of Bollywood heavyweights Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, adding some credibility to his claim about knowing Katrina Kaif.
