Pakistan’s average temperature reached 25.2°C in October 2026, while nighttime temperatures remained 2.3°C above normal, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s monthly climate report.
Pakistan experienced one of its warmest Octobers on record in 2026, with the country’s average temperature recorded 1.2 degrees Celsius above the normal level, making it the sixth-hottest October in the past 66 years.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the national average temperature reached 25.2°C during October, highlighting the unusually warm conditions experienced across the country.
The monthly climate report also revealed that nighttime temperatures were significantly higher than normal, with the average minimum temperature recorded 2.3°C above the seasonal average.
This placed October 2026 as the third-warmest October in Pakistan’s recorded history in terms of nighttime temperatures.
Pakistan Experiences Unusually Warm Nights in October
One of the most notable findings in the PMD’s October climate report was the unusually high nighttime temperature.
The average minimum temperature remained 2.3°C above normal, making October 2026 the third-warmest October for nighttime temperatures in the past 66 years.
Higher nighttime temperatures mean that temperatures remained elevated even after sunset, reducing the extent of overnight cooling.
The findings highlight an important aspect of Pakistan’s changing temperature patterns, as warmer nights can increase heat exposure and reduce opportunities for natural cooling.
Average Daytime Temperature Reaches 32.1°C
The PMD report recorded Pakistan’s average maximum daytime temperature at 32.1°C during October 2026.
Meanwhile, the overall national average temperature stood at 25.2°C, representing a departure of 1.2°C above the long-term normal.
The figures indicate that temperatures remained relatively elevated during both daytime and nighttime hours throughout the month.
Pakistan Receives 9.2mm Average Rainfall in October
In addition to recording unusually high temperatures, Pakistan received an average rainfall of 9.2 millimetres during October 2026.
The rainfall figure represents the country’s reported national average for the month.
The PMD’s monthly climate assessment provides an overview of temperature and precipitation patterns and helps monitor variations from established climatic averages.
What the October Climate Report Indicates
The latest figures highlight the persistence of unusually warm conditions in Pakistan, particularly during nighttime hours.
October’s ranking as the sixth-hottest month of its kind in 66 years, combined with the third-highest nighttime temperature ranking, provides an important indication of the country’s recent temperature patterns.
The findings also underline the importance of continued climate monitoring, accurate weather forecasting and preparedness for changing temperature and rainfall conditions.
According to the PMD’s assessment, October 2026 stands out as a particularly warm month in Pakistan’s recorded climate history.
