Saudi Arabia has removed several hadith references involving Jews, Judaism, and other religions from its school textbooks, according to the latest curriculum review.
Among the removed material is a hadith about the end of times that describes Muslims fighting and killing Jews. The narration had previously appeared in Saudi educational material but is no longer included in the current curriculum.
Hadith on Jews and the Afterlife Also Removed
A separate change appears in a Grade 7 social studies textbook. The latest edition no longer includes a hadith that had been interpreted as implying Jews were destined for Hell. Its removal marks another shift in how Saudi textbooks present religious material concerning Jewish people specifically.
Reference Calling Judaism a “False Religion” Also Dropped
Saudi Arabia has also revised a Grade 7 Life and Family Skills textbook. The book had previously quoted a hadith describing Judaism, Christianity, and Zoroastrianism as false religions. That hadith no longer appears in the revised edition.
This particular change extends beyond material concerning Jews alone — it also removes language relating to Christians and Zoroastrians, pointing to a broader revision of how the curriculum characterizes other religious traditions more generally.
