Sindh announces two public holidays for Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

The Sindh government on Wednesday announced September 5 and 6 as public holidays in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

A notification issued by the General Administration and Coordination Department stated that all provincial government offices will remain closed on both days.

However, employees assigned to flood relief operations, emergency response units, and other essential services will continue to perform their duties during the holidays.

The announcement came a day after the federal government declared Saturday, September 6, a nationwide holiday to mark the 12th of Rabiul Awwal.

Last week, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed that the crescent moon for Rabiul Awwal had not been sighted, setting September 6 as the date for Eid Milad-un-Nabi across Pakistan.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi, also known in Arabic as Mawlid al-Nabawi, is observed by Muslims around the world on the 12th day of Rabiul Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

The day is marked by religious gatherings, recitation of naats, and events highlighting the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH).
