CM Maryam launches ‘Grow More Wheat’ balloting scheme.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the “Grow More Wheat” programme digital balloting prize scheme by pressing a button in Lahore, reported The Asian Mirror on Tuesday.
A female farmer from Bahawalnagar, Kasuar Parveen, was the first winner of the Green Tractor through balloting in the “Grow More Wheat” programme.
On this event, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz talked to the female farmer on the phone and congratulated her on winning the Green Tractor through balloting.
1,000 free tractors distribution
Addressing the farmers on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that 1,000 free tractors will be distributed among the farmers through this scheme.
She said that the Punjab government introduced many projects for the welfare of farmers, including the Green Tractor, Kissan Car, and Super Seed card.
She hoped that during the current season the wheat crop would produce better results. She further said that her sincere prayers are with the farmer’s community.
It is important to note here that 57,733 applications were received under the Grow More Wheat Programme, out of which 21,496 applicants were declared eligible after verification.
Tractors of 50-horsepower would be allotted through a transparent draw to farmers cultivating wheat on more than 12.5 acres.
