Pakistan registers 18pc jump in IT exports during January 2025.
Pakistan recorded a jump of 18 per cent in the export of information technology (IT) goods during the month of January 2025 as compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year of 2024, reported The Asian Mirror on Monday.
A report issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) stated that during the month of January 2025, Pakistan exported IT goods worth $31.30 million, while the IT sector exported different IT items amounting to $26.50 million during January 2024.
In December 2024, Pakistan exported various IT goods worth $34.80 million, while a 10 per cent decrease was registered in IT exports on a monthly (MoM) basis but IT exports enhanced by 18 percent on a yearly (YoY) basis.
Pakistan exported 45 per cent of IT goods, which belonged to the services and welfare sector.
During the first seven months of the current fiscal year, Pakistan witnessed a 26 per cent increase in the IT sector’s exports worth $2.17 billion, while during the same period of the previous fiscal year, Pakistan exported IT goods worth $1.72 billion.
It is important to note here that the present government is taking effective measures to increase IT sector exports and a reasonable increase is being witnessed in exports.
