Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has finally accepted that he had instructed for a protest outside the army installations in Rawalpindi including GHQ on May 9 before his arrest, The Asian Mirror reported.
Imran Khan also made it clear during talks with reporters at Adiala Jail that his call for protest outside GHQ on May 9 was ‘peaceful.’

“I had given a call for holding a peaceful protest outside the General Headquarters (GHQ) before my arrest,” Imran Khan said, adding that police and Rangers attacked my house in Zaman Park on 14 March.
“Later on March 18, the law enforcers again forcibly barged into my house,” he said, adding that on the same day, the Judicial Complex witnessed shelling inside and outside its compound.
“I was abducted by Rangers & people had every right to protest against military. Nowhere in the constitution it’s written that you can’t protest infront of GHQ or cantts” —Imran khan.

On the other hand, police detained the acting chairman and the information secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday (today), escalating the crackdown on jailed former prime minister Imran Khan’s party on.
Mr Khan’s lawyer Ali Ijaz Buttar maintained that Gohar Ali Khan and Raoof Hassan were “arrested by Islamabad police” from the party’s office.
Physical remand in Toshakhana case extended
Meanwhile, a court in Rawalpindi extended the physical remand of Imran and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana reference by seven days on Monday.
Before the court’s decision, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted to the court its investigation report in the case.
