CM Murad’s brother-in-law appointed Sindh chief secretary. The federal government has announced the appointment of Syed Asif Hyder Shah, a distinguished BS-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, as the new Chief Secretary of Sindh.

Shah, who brings a wealth of administrative experience to the role, is notably the brother-in-law of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Currently serving as the secretary for the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Division, Shah’s appointment underscores a strategic move by the government to enhance administrative efficiency in the province.

With a career spanning nearly three decades in the Civil Service of Pakistan, Shah has held pivotal positions across various sectors.

Notable among these are his roles as commissioner for both Hyderabad and Karachi, special secretary for the Cabinet Division, federal secretary for the Ministry of Culture, and secretary for the Power Division.

His extensive experience reflects a deep understanding of governance and public administration.

Beyond his administrative prowess, Shah boasts an impressive academic background. A civil engineer by profession, he earned his MBA degree from the prestigious Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi.

Furthering his academic pursuits, Shah pursued his master’s studies at Harvard University in the United States. His dedication to intellectual growth is evident through his receipt of fellowships from both Harvard and Stanford universities.

Notably, Shah’s tenure as commissioner of Hyderabad and Karachi earned widespread acclaim from various sectors of society, underscoring his ability to navigate complex administrative challenges with finesse.
