Punjab students to get Electric Bikes under new initiative. Punjab’s newly elected Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has unveiled a progressive agenda aimed at empowering the region’s youth through innovative initiatives.

Following the successful implementation of programs such as iPad distribution and free bus services, CM Maryam Nawaz has announced an ambitious plan to provide e-bikes to students, marking a significant milestone in Punjab’s transportation landscape.

Dubbed the “Punjab Govt E-Bikes Scheme for Students 2024,” this initiative seeks to revolutionize commuting for students, working women, youth, and individuals with disabilities across the region.

With the introduction of approximately 20,000 electric bikes and 657 eco-friendly buses, Punjab is set to witness a paradigm shift towards sustainable and accessible transportation.

The E-Bike Scheme aims to alleviate the financial burden on students attending colleges and universities by offering them affordable commuting options.

Through an online application process set to commence in the coming months, students will have the opportunity to avail themselves of electric bikes, with support from the Bank of Punjab in the form of soft loans.

Additionally, flexible installment plans with minimal interest rates will enable students to procure e-bikes with ease.

Initially focusing on major urban centers such as Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, and Faisalabad, the scheme will later expand to encompass smaller cities across Punjab.

To ensure equitable access, separate quotas will be allocated for male and female students, with a meticulous application process in place to streamline operations and maximize efficiency.

In tandem with the E-Bike Scheme, CM Maryam Nawaz has directed the implementation of a school bus project tailored specifically for girl students in every tehsil of Punjab.

This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and safety for female students, particularly in areas where transportation infrastructure is lacking.

The rollout will commence in key cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur, catering to the unique needs of female students across the province.

Furthermore, CM Maryam Nawaz has underscored her commitment to addressing housing challenges faced by low-income individuals, directing the reduction of housing installments and expediting land allocation for housing construction projects in various districts.

As Punjab students to get Electric Bikes under new initiative, these measures reflect the government’s dedication to fostering inclusive development and improving the quality of life for all residents of Punjab.
