Bilawal promises 100% increase in salaries for govt employees if got power. In a spirited public rally in Upper Dir, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari made a bold promise to increase salaries for all government employees by a substantial 100%, should his party secure another opportunity to govern in the upcoming general elections.
Bhutto-Zardari underscored his party’s track record of enhancing government employee salaries during its previous tenures.
Referring to the current caretaker government, the PPP leader criticized the soaring levels of inflation, emphasizing a historic high, and lamented the escalating challenges of unemployment and poverty.
He accused the present ruling administration of turning a blind eye to the plight of the people.
Speaking against what he termed the “politics of hatred and division,” Bhutto-Zardari asserted that such approaches are detrimental to the well-being of the citizens.
He urged politicians to rise above divisive tactics to navigate the country out of its current crises.
In a scathing critique of seasoned politicians, the PPP chairman attributed the root cause of national issues to their “ego,” accusing them of prioritizing personal animosity over constructive political opposition.
While expressing support for the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-led government in addressing economic concerns, Bhutto-Zardari took a swipe at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), clarifying that his party did not anticipate a vengeful approach when they were coalition partners.
Highlighting the PPP’s achievements, Bhutto-Zardari credited his father, Asif Ali Zardari, for introducing the 18th Amendment to the Constitution.
He pledged to fully implement the 18th Amendment and the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award if the PPP emerges victorious in the upcoming elections.
In a call for unity, the PPP leader emphasized the need for a collective effort to combat terrorism and inflation.
He urged the electorate to consider giving the PPP another chance, drawing parallels between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), suggesting they share similar goals.
As Bilawal promises 100% increase in salaries for govt employees if got power, his promises and criticisms underscore the strategic positioning of the PPP as a party ready to address economic challenges and prioritize the welfare of the citizens.
