QUETTA: Security forces repelled efforts to attack their camps in the Panjgur and Naushki areas of Balochistan on Wednesday, with one soldier embracing death and four terrorists killed amid intensive exchanges of fire, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Terrorists suffered substantial casualties, according to the ISPR. “Terrorists attempted to target security forces camps in two sites in Balochistan, Panjgur and Naushki, late this evening,” the statement stated. “Both attacks were successfully defeated while causing serious casualties among terrorists,” the statement continued.
Terrorists attempted to enter the security forces’ camp from two sites in Panjgur, according to the ISPR. Their plan was unsuccessful, however, because forces reacted quickly. One soldier was martyred during the fierce exchange of fire, according to the ISPR. Terrorists fled while their casualties were being determined, according to the report.
Terrorists attempted to enter an FC camp in Naushki, but were quickly apprehended, and four terrorists were slain. “During the shootout, one officer was injured. Intermittent firing is still going on. “More information will be provided,” the message said.
The attacks were the latest in a succession of terrorist attacks in the province in recent weeks. Last week, the ISPR reported that terrorists attacked a checkpoint in the province’s Kech area, killing ten soldiers.
Terrorists carried out a “fire raid” in Kech on January 25 and 26, according to the ISPR. The forces repelled the onslaught, and one terrorist was killed and many others were injured “after a fierce exchange of fire,” according to the report.
