892 new Covid-19 cases registered in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, health officials said that 892 new Coronavirus infections had been registered in the federal capital in the previous 24 hours.

According to a representative from the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,359 instances were recorded on Friday, compared to 1,131 cases on Thursday. He stated that so far, 115,939 instances have been recorded from the federal capital, with 975 deaths reported from the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), and 108,525 people having been fully recovered.

Meanwhile, the government has eliminated the charge for booster shorts for individuals travelling overseas, and they may now acquire one for free by producing their identification. This booster was previously available to the general public at no cost. The district administration of Islamabad has sustained monitoring of different districts of the city on the order of the Ministry of National Health Services to limit infection transmission in designated streets and other sectors.

During inspection teams’ visits to wedding venues, marketplaces, and gas stations, they began taking action on a violation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) relating to the coronavirus. The administration had been ordered to take action against stores, workshops, and restaurants that had broken SOPs. In the event of a breach of SOPs, the inspection teams were instructed to issue notifications to marriage venues as well as fines to business owners.

An official from the Ministry of National Health Services commented on the issue, saying that many local-level administrative steps had been made to contain the sickness. To limit the spreading transmission of COVID-19 throughout the city, he recommended residents to continue to utilise social distance, masks, and other preventative measures.
