Islamabad/Tyrian White case – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected a petition seeking the disqualification of former Prime Minister Imran Khan for allegedly hiding his purported daughter, Tyrian White.
The decision, delivered by a larger bench headed by Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri, puts an end to a contentious legal battle.
The petition, filed by Islamabad citizen Muhammad Sajid, argued that Imran Khan should be disqualified under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution of Pakistan.
This article mandates that members of Parliament must be “sadiq and ameen” (honest and righteous).
Sajid contended that Khan’s alleged denial of Tyrian White as his daughter, despite purported evidence to the contrary, disqualified him from holding public office or leading a political party.
The case has seen several procedural twists.
In May 2023, IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq dissolved the original three-member bench after the opinions from Justices Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Arbab Muhammad Tahir on the petition’s maintainability uploaded on the court’s website.

Subsequently, a new bench comprising Justices Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Arbab Mohammad Tahir, and Saman Rafat Imtiaz was formed to hear the case.
Despite the new formation, the bench ultimately decided against the petition.
Tyrian White case has been returned by the three members bench of the Islamabad High Court, to its rightful place, i.e. in the “dustbin” of history.
