Shehbaz Sharif and Mohammed bin Salman’s meeting marked a renewed push to strengthen Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during an official visit to the Kingdom.
The high-level meeting took place in Jeddah and lasted nearly two hours. Prime Minister Sharif was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing key regional developments.
Shehbaz Sharif Meets Mohammed bin Salman to Boost Pakistan-Saudi Ties
Both leaders agreed to deepen collaboration across multiple sectors, including defense, energy, trade, and investment, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia expressed interest in expanding investment in Pakistan, extending its support for Pakistan’s economic stability and development. Prime Minister Sharif welcomed the Kingdom’s continued backing and highlighted the importance of economic cooperation for shared growth.
The two sides emphasized the need to accelerate joint projects and explore new opportunities for mutual economic benefit.
Regional security and Middle East developments
A significant portion of the talks centered on the evolving situation in the Middle East. Both leaders exchanged views on regional tensions and defence-related matters while discussing joint efforts to promote peace and stability, particularly in Gaza and the wider region.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia amid recent regional escalation and conveyed condolences over the loss of lives resulting from ongoing conflicts.
Pakistan’s role in US-Iran diplomacy
The prime minister briefed the crown prince on Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives, including its role in facilitating the US-Iran ceasefire and hosting talks in Islamabad.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s constructive engagement and praised the role of Field Marshal Asim Munir in advancing peace efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions.
Strategic partnership and future engagement
Both leaders reaffirmed that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a unique relationship as strategic defense partners under a mutual defense agreement. They pledged to maintain close coordination on all matters of mutual interest.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif arrived in Madinah, where he was received by the governor, Salman bin Sultan. The prime minister visited Masjid-e-Nabwi, where he offered prayers for Pakistan’s progress, public welfare, and global peace.
After completing his Saudi visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to depart for Doha, where he will meet the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
