Baloch emphasized that as a matter of policy, Pakistan does not supply arms to regions embroiled in conflicts, including Ukraine.
She clarified that this stance was upheld during a telephonic conversation held on November 7 between Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Lt Gen (retd) Anwar Ali Hyder, and his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umerov.
During their discussion, Defence Minister Anwar Ali Hyder and Rustem Umerov explored various aspects of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Ukraine.
The Ukrainian official expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s contribution to enhancing Ukraine’s capabilities. Despite the cordial nature of their conversation, the topic of supplying arms to Ukraine did not arise, as confirmed by Baloch.
Rustem Umerov acknowledged Pakistan’s support, stating, “I’m grateful for Pakistan’s contribution to Ukraine’s capabilities. It was a pleasure to discuss areas of mutual interest as we maintain our bilateral relationship.”
