Katheryn Winnick, a Canadian actress, showed her support for Ukraine on Tuesday, amid concerns that Russia is planning an invasion of the country where she was born.
Winnick posted a photo to Instagram with the message “Stand by Ukraine.”
Her appearance in the hit TV series “Vikings” catapulted her to international recognition.
Lagertha, Ragnar’s wife, was her character in “Vikings.”
Meanwhile, following what he described as Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, US President Joe Biden ordered penalties against Russian banks and the country’s affluent elite.
In a televised statement at the White House, Biden warned, “This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
The penalties, according to Biden, are simply the “first tranche” in reaction to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “carving out a significant portion of Ukraine.”
