Bushra Iqbal responds to allegations of Dania’s mother
Syeda Bushra Iqbal, the first wife of the late televangelist Aamir Liaquat Hussain, filed a lawsuit against Hussain’s third wife, Dania Shah, in July of this year. Iqbal had already stated that she will report Shah to the cybercrime wing.
Shah was arrested earlier this week. Salma, Shah’s mother, claims that multiple police officers entered her home and tortured both her and her kids. She continued by saying that as the cops were removing her, they beat Shah and pulled her to the police van.
Shah’s mother claimed that Iqbal had organised the “drama” and had her daughter arrested shortly after Shah was taken into custody. Iqbal is now addressing Salma’s accusations.
Speaking to the media outside the court, Iqbal commented, “I’ve been hearing a lot of rumours, a lot of allegations being levelled against me.”
She added, “This woman [Dania’s] mother has been saying whatever she pleases against me. The first thing I’d like to clarify is that these kinds of people who didn’t care about Aamir’s dignity, what would they know about it anyway? She has to save her daughter, so she has to make up stories.”
Iqbal went on, “As much as she creates a ruckus outside the court, Dania’s mother is just as silent inside it. She doesn’t have any evidence to present. These kinds of tales work here, not when you’re in the courtroom. She has been saying that they have ample proof in voice recordings, and videos ever since Dania had filed for Khula. The said evidence is still not presented in court.”
She further commented, “I believe there’s no court outside of court. Whatever you have to say should be said inside the courtroom. Anyone can come up and allege whatever they please. They can claim whatever they like and we are ready to respond within legal boundaries. The kind of derogatory allegations Dania’s mother had been making against me is just that – allegations. All they are after is money and we don’t care about it. Aamir’s kids are here to fight but not for the inheritance. They are here to fight for their late father’s honour.”
Judicial Magistrate East Mukesh Kumar on Friday denied Shah’s request for bail in the matter of publishing the late TV anchor’s offensive video online. It is unclear who made the video, when it was made, or where it was made, according to the defence attorney Liaquat Ali Gabol Advocate. According to the FIA prosecutor, the question is not who made the film but rather who released it online. Shah claimed to have created this video in an interview.

Iqbal declared on Twitter that she would be bringing legal action against Dania and her mother. We will submit an application to the FIA Cyber Crime today against Dania Shah and her mother.” She went on to request prayers as well.”
It was reported that Shah had been arrested by the FIA for leaking Hussain’s indecent video earlier this year. Shah had previously shared a clip of the late host on social media, which prompted uproar. Later, the television personality shared his two cents on the matter and revealed that he has no choice but to leave the country after ‘indecent’ videos made rounds on social media.
