King Charles III is like a “caretaker” of the monarchy for his son William, according to royal historian Marlene Koenig.
According to a royal historian, King Charles III is a “caretaker” of the kingdom for his son Prince William because he is aware that his time in power may be limited.
The 73-year-old new monarch of Britain is aware that his reign will be short-lived compared to that of Queen Elizabeth II, but he will carry out his duties to preserve the crown for future generations.
As the heir apparent for the entirety of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70-year reign, Charles was just three years old when she assumed the throne in 1952.
In contrast to his mother’s rule, Koenig noted that given Charles’ age: “He realizes that his time is shorter. But he’s going to try his hardest.”
She continued, “He is and he knows he is a caretaker for the future generation,” referring to Prince William and Prince George, Charles’ grandson and son, who are first and second in line to the throne, respectively.
