DUBAI: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi paid a visit to the Pakistani Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020 on Thursday, praising the organisers’ distinctive design and efforts.
The foreign minister was met by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Afzal Mahmood, the Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, Hassan Afzal Khan, and the Director of the Pavilion, Rizwan Tariq.
The director pavilion briefed the foreign minister on the design and features of the Pakistani Pavilion in great detail.
The pavilion is divided into seven areas, covering history, culture, and tourism in Pakistan.
A million people have visited the Pakistani Pavilion at Expo 2020 so far. It is one of the top five pavilions at the expo due to its unique design, which is a significant honour for Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Qureshi also paid a visit to Saudi Arabia’s pavilion, where he was greeted by Saudi Assistant Commissioner General Hussain Hanbazazah.
The foreign minister praised the design and characteristics of the Saudi Pavilion, describing it as a reflection of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030.
He also went to China’s pavilion, where he admired the different technological models on display. He also looked at a replica of a computerised railway that could go at 350 kilometres per hour.
Later, he went to the Turkish and United Arab Emirates pavilions, where he was briefed on the cultures and histories of the two countries.
