Sanaullah hopeful that alliance with MQM-P to help PML-N get 3-4 seats in Karachi. Rana Sanaullah, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), has expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in Karachi following an alliance with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P).

The collaboration, announced recently, is anticipated to bolster the chances of three to four PML-N candidates securing victory in Karachi on February 8, as reported by The News on Friday.

Speaking on Geo News’ program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada kay Sath’ on Thursday, Sanaullah revealed that while several details of the alliance were yet to be finalized, the MQM-P had committed to providing crucial support in constituencies where PML-N candidates were poised for success.

The focus of the alliance extends beyond Karachi, with plans to fortify the PML-N’s position in Balochistan and explore potential seat adjustments in select constituencies in the province.

Expressing concern about the possibility of a hung parliament post-election, Sanaullah emphasized the importance of the future government securing a simple majority to effectively address the myriad challenges facing the nation.

He cited the PML-N’s resilience in the face of adversity in 2018 and expressed confidence in the party’s enduring popularity, particularly in Punjab, where he envisaged surpassing the seat count achieved in 2013.

Clarifying the party’s stance on alliances, Sanaullah dismissed the idea of a merger with the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) but signaled openness to seat adjustments.

He alluded to a potential meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Chaudhry Shujaat, suggesting a possible accommodation of the PML-Q in Gujrat.

In terms of other political dynamics, Sanaullah discussed the potential for seat adjustments with Fazlur Rehman in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, albeit with a degree of skepticism.

He underscored amicable relations with key figures from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), such as Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto, emphasizing that while the PML-N and PPP would be electoral rivals, there was no animosity between the two parties.

As Sanaullah hopeful that alliance with MQM-P to help PML-N get 3-4 seats in Karachi, his insights shed light on the intricate alliances and strategies shaping the competitive environment, with the PML-N aiming to solidify its position on the national stage.
