Ex PTI leader Pervez Khattak forms ‘PTI Parliamentarians’. Pervez Khattak, an adviser to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has launched a new party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentarians.
According to the reports, 57 ex-assembly members have joined PTI Parliamentarians, including former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Mahmood Khan and ex-lawmakers Shaukat Ali and Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq Urmar.
The news comes as the Khan-led PTI remains beleaguered, with its chairman facing many charges and the danger of disqualification, and several party officials abandoning him in the aftermath of May 9 – the day PTI workers wreaked havoc on the country and attacked army posts.
Former Khan aides have also harmed his Punjab party, with Jahangir Tareen, Aleem Khan, and others close to the PTI president forming the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party in June.

Khattak said he denounced the May 9 incidents, for which some accused risk harsh sentences since the government and army are determined to trial them in military courts.
“Our existence is inextricably linked to Pakistan’s.” “The PTI is now completely finished in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” claimed the former provincial chief minister, who is still active in the province’s politics.
During the PTI government, Khattak served as the PTI’s secretary general and the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He resigned as PTI KP president shortly after the May 9 mayhem.
According to sources, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have also approached Khattak and invited him to join their respective parties.
Khattak, on the other hand, has decided to start his own political party rather than join another.
The action is a big setback for the PTI, which is attempting to reclaim power and form a government in the forthcoming general election.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that his government’s term would finish in mid-August and that they intend to leave sooner than that.
