Interloop Plans $55 Million Dairy Plant in Pakistan

Interloop Holdings plans to invest $55 million, equivalent to approximately Rs15 billion, in a new dairy processing plant in Pakistan through its subsidiary IL Foods Limited, according to the investment announcement.

The proposed facility is expected to manufacture cheese, butter and Whey Protein Concentrate 80 (WPC80), with part of its output intended for export markets.

The investment would expand the group’s presence in dairy processing and add to its business interests beyond textile manufacturing. The project is also expected to support local production of value-added dairy ingredients, although its potential impact on imports, employment and export earnings will depend on implementation and market demand.

New Plant to Focus on Value-Added Dairy Products

The planned facility is expected to produce cheese, butter and WPC80, a concentrated dairy protein ingredient used in food manufacturing and sports nutrition products.

Producing these items locally could create additional opportunities for Pakistan’s dairy supply chain by connecting milk production with higher-value processed products. Export plans would also give the proposed facility a potential route to international markets.

However, the final production mix, commissioning date, export destinations and expected sales have not been specified in the information available for this report.

Interloop Targets Combined Processing Capacity of 180 Million Litres

Once the new facility becomes operational, Interloop’s combined annual milk-processing capacity is expected to reach 180 million litres, according to the announcement.

The planned capacity indicates the scale of the group’s dairy ambitions. Actual output will depend on the plant’s commissioning, access to milk supplies, processing efficiency and demand for its products.

For Pakistan’s dairy industry, investment in processing infrastructure can help convert raw milk into products with longer shelf lives and wider commercial uses. Export opportunities, meanwhile, depend on meeting the food-safety, quality-control and certification requirements of destination markets.

Partnership With Türkiye’s Rella Gida

The project is linked to Türkiye’s Rella Gida, which brings dairy-sector expertise to the proposed investment. The announcement identifies IL Foods Limited as the subsidiary through which Interloop intends to pursue the project.

Interloop already has interests in dairy and related businesses. Its affiliated venture, IRC Dairy Products, identifies Interloop, Rella Gida and Crystal among the partners behind its operations. The company describes its activities as including dairy processing, cheese production and exports.

The relationship provides context for Interloop’s expansion into value-added dairy products. The precise division of responsibilities, investment contributions and operating arrangements for the proposed IL Foods facility should be confirmed through a detailed company announcement.

Interloop’s Business Beyond Textiles

Founded in Faisalabad in 1992, Interloop Limited is a major Pakistani manufacturer and exporter of hosiery, denim, knitted apparel and seamless activewear. Its corporate profile is available through the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The wider group has developed interests in businesses beyond its core textile operations, including dairy and related services. Its proposed investment in processing infrastructure would represent another step in that diversification strategy.

Interloop’s official governance page lists Musadaq Zulqarnain as chairperson of Interloop Holdings. Interloop Limited’s Pakistan Stock Exchange profile separately identifies Navid Fazil as its chief executive officer and Zulqarnain as chairperson.

The proposed $55 million investment signals an intention to expand value-added dairy production in Pakistan. The project’s eventual contribution to domestic supply, exports and the wider dairy sector will become clearer as the company discloses further details on construction, production targets and commercial operations.
