Motorola has introduced the Signature 27 5G, becoming the first smartphone to launch with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. The flagship also brings a 200MP periscope camera, a new Bang & Olufsen audio system and Android 17-based MotoOS.
The Motorola Signature 27 was unveiled at the Qualcomm Summit 2026 and is positioned as the company’s latest premium smartphone. Motorola says the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is built on a 2 nm process, bringing improvements in performance and efficiency.
The phone is expected to go on sale by the end of 2026, although Motorola has yet to confirm its exact launch date, price or availability in India.
Motorola Signature 27 Display and Camera
The Signature 27 5G features a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole selfie camera.
At the back, Motorola has adopted a horizontally arranged camera module with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera and an ultrawide sensor. The camera setup is accompanied by a circular ring flash and B&O branding.
Motorola has also added a dedicated Video Enhancement Engine, which uses AI to analyse the display and adjust colour tones for video playback.
The phone supports Dolby Vision, adding HDR-focused video playback to its flagship entertainment features.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Powers the Flagship
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is the main hardware highlight of the Motorola Signature 27.
Motorola is among the first smartphone manufacturers to adopt Qualcomm’s new-generation flagship platform, with the 2nm chipset designed to deliver stronger performance while improving power efficiency.
The Signature 27 will compete in the premium smartphone segment alongside upcoming flagship devices from Samsung, Apple and OnePlus.
Bang & Olufsen Audio Comes to Motorola
Motorola has also partnered with Bang & Olufsen (B&O) for its new audio system.
The multi-year partnership brings Bang & Olufsen technology to Motorola smartphones, starting with the Signature 27. The company says the upgraded audio setup is designed to improve the phone’s entertainment experience.
Actual audio performance will depend on hands-on testing, but the partnership gives Motorola’s flagship a new focus on premium sound.
Android 17 and Gemini AI Features
The Motorola Signature 27 runs MotoOS based on Android 17 and is designed to offer a relatively clean software experience.
Motorola is also integrating AI features powered by Google Gemini. Users will be able to use AI tools to create videos from prompts, photographs and existing footage, while the software can also generate music through Google’s Lyria technology.
AI features are integrated into the camera experience as well, allowing the phone to enhance photographs and videos.
Motorola has promised seven years of operating system and security updates for the Signature 27.
Motorola Signature 27 Launch Date and Availability
The Motorola Signature 27 will be offered in PANTONE Coal Smoke and PANTONE Capulet Olive colour options.
Motorola has said it plans to announce the global sale date by the end of 2026. However, the company has not yet revealed the phone’s official price or confirmed its availability in India.
With the Signature 27, Motorola is making the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, 200MP periscope camera, B&O audio and Android 17 the key highlights of its next flagship smartphone.
