The Punjab government has approved plans to construct three major hospitals in Lahore as part of the Nawaz Sharif Medical City project in LDA City.
The three facilities will be developed on 216 acres of land allocated for the medical city, with the projects aimed at expanding specialised healthcare services in the provincial capital.
Three Hospitals Planned in LDA City
The 352-bed Maryam Nawaz Institute of Paediatric Health Sciences will be built at an estimated cost of Rs8 billion.
A 175-bed Nawaz Sharif Institute of Burn, Plastic Surgery and Trauma Centre will also be established under the project. The facility is expected to cost around Rs6.15 billion.
The third facility, the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Genetic Blood Diseases, will be constructed at the same location at an estimated cost of Rs10 billion.
IDAP Assigned Construction Responsibility
The Punjab government has assigned the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) responsibility for constructing all three hospitals.
The projects will bring specialised paediatric, burn, trauma, plastic surgery and genetic blood disease treatment facilities together within the planned Nawaz Sharif Medical City in LDA City.
