A startling twist has surfaced in the investigation into the kidnapping of a four-year-old boy in Quetta after authorities revealed that the prime suspect is a close relative of the child.
Investigators from the Serious Crime Investigation Wing (SCIW) said the woman accused of abducting the child is his aunt and a medical student by profession. The boy, officials confirmed, is the son of her cousin.
According to investigators, the kidnapping was allegedly orchestrated to extort a ransom of $60,000, a plan that has deeply shocked the family after it emerged that the crime was not committed by an outsider but by someone within their own circle.
Alleged motive linked to plans abroad
SCIW officials said the suspect aspired to travel to France to pursue a medical career and is believed to have planned the abduction to finance those ambitions. The ransom amount was reportedly fixed at $60,000 as part of the alleged scheme.
Authorities have not yet disclosed detailed information about the circumstances surrounding the child’s recovery but confirmed that the boy has been safely retrieved.
Investigation widens
The case is now expanding beyond a single suspect. Investigators said multiple individuals are suspected of being involved, and raids are ongoing to apprehend them.
Officials added that further developments are expected as the investigation progresses, with law enforcement working to uncover the full scope of the alleged plot.
