ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matter of national pride, says Mohsin Naqvi.
The 76th meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Governing Board, chaired by Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, supported decisions made in earlier sessions.
During the meeting, the board was briefed on the progress of the ICC Champions Trophy.
Chairman Naqvi updated the members on Pakistan’s preparations for hosting the prestigious tournament.

“I have always advocated for Pakistan and cricket’s victory since day one,” stated Chairman Naqvi, affirming PCB’s readiness to organize the Champions Trophy.
He expressed pride in Pakistan’s principled stance, which has been widely appreciated.
“Champions Trophy is a matter of national honor, and we will not let it be compromised,” emphasized Naqvi. He further reiterated his opposition to politics in cricket, calling it a sport beloved by millions.
Chairman Naqvi assured the board that renovation work on stadiums will be completed well before the Champions Trophy, ensuring Pakistan’s preparedness to host the event successfully.

Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi is a Pakistani politician and media mogul who has served as interior minister of Pakistan since 11 March 2024 and the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board since 6 February 2024. Prior to these roles, he was the caretaker chief minister of Punjab from January 2023 to February 2024.
