This is not the first time Babar has resigned from a leadership position.

His earlier tenure as captain concluded in November 2023 following Pakistan’s underwhelming performance in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India.

Despite this setback, Babar was reinstated as the white-ball captain in March 2024, leading the team through a series of T20I matches against New Zealand, Ireland, and England.

These results have intensified the scrutiny of the team’s leadership and performance strategies.

At the moment, there are rumors and reports that wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan is being considered for the job.
