What happened at PCB’s connection camp?
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ended its highly-anticipated ‘connection camp’ on Monday.
The camp in Lahore was organized amidst backlash from cricket lovers following worst performance by Pakistani team.
The connection camp brought together key figures from the PCB, including head coaches Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten, national captains Shan Masood and Babar Azam, and other prominent players.

The camp was organized against a backdrop of significant challenges for Pakistan cricket.
Over the past year, the team has faced a series of defeats, including losses to Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup, the USA in the T20 World Cup, and a 2-0 home Test series defeat to Bangladesh.
While specific details of the discussions were not disclosed to maintain a “safe space” for open dialogue, the camp reportedly focused on planning, workload management, and improving team and management collaboration.
“Everyone is feeling that the performances of players, and management, can be better. The idea was to sit together, identify issues, and what can be better,” Naseer explained.

“What was really clear today was the pride the Pakistan players have in playing for Pakistan and how they want to inspire the country,” Test coach Jason Gillespie noted.
Despite recent setbacks, white-ball coach Gary Kirsten expressed optimism about the depth of talent in Pakistan cricket.
Having observed the Champions Cup over the past 12 days, Kirsten praised the quality of the competition and the potential of young players.
“I’ve been really encouraged at the depth of quality of players in this tournament,” he said.
