The Lahore High Judicial (LHC) began hearing a plea submitted by PML-N MPA Bilal Yasin, in which he requested court directions to transfer the case of an assassination attempt on his life from the anti-terrorism court (ATC) to another court.
PML-N MPA had approached the LHC, demonstrating his disdain for the ATC-III.
During the case’s hearing, Chief Justice (CJ) Muhammad Ameer Bhatti of the LHC ordered the petitioner not to make frivolous accusations against the courts and to allow them to perform their jobs.
The Punjab government was represented by Deputy Prosecutor General Sarfaraz Ahmed Khatana.
Counsel for MPA Yasin told the court during his arguments that it looked that the ATC judge was influenced by the accused. “As a result, it is prayed to the honorable court that the case is transferred from the ATC to another court,” he said.
