Pakistan’s IT sector sees 20.41% growth as Government pledges support for investment.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication, has vowed a full fledge support to IT companies who are interested to invest in Pakistan.
While speaking with a delegation of Swedish companies in Islamabad, she appreciated the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council in promoting investments across various sectors.

Khawaja said that the government is working to digitalize the economy and started it first with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
She also announced the approval of a national digitization commission led by the Prime Minister and include representatives from all four provinces.

Pakistan’s IT sector sees 20.41% growth:
In the first ten months of the current fiscal year 2023-24, Pakistan earned $2.593 billion from providing IT services to international clients, marking a 20.41% increase from the $2.135 billion earned during the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
During this period, IT exports saw a significant rise of 24.55%, growing from $1.729 billion last year to $2.153 billion in July-April 2023-24.

Within the computer services sector, software consultancy exports increased by 10.80%, from $633.107 million to $701.456 million, while hardware consultancy exports surged by 19.24%, from $4.793 million to $5.715 million.
