PML-N digital removes election poll after majority voted in favour of PTI. The return of Nawaz Sharif, the head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former Prime Minister, from self-imposed exile has injected new vigor into Pakistan’s political landscape.

With eyes set on the 2024 general elections, Sharif’s key challenge lies in establishing his party as a formidable alternative to the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan, despite the latter’s enduring popularity amid a sweeping crackdown.

Digital campaigns have become a crucial battleground for various political parties, aiming to shape public perception and garner support.

Notably, a recent Twitter poll conducted by the PML-N’s digital team about the upcoming elections sent shockwaves through political circles.

The unexpected result showed an overwhelming 81 percent in favor of PTI and Imran Khan, with less than 5 percent supporting the Nawaz-led PML-N.

Only 2 percent backed the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), while 1 percent favored other political entities. The ensuing frenzy among Imran Khan’s supporters led to the removal of the poll by the PML-N team to mitigate potential humiliation and online trolling.

Pakistan, a nation of 240 million people, grapples with multifaceted challenges encompassing security, economic turmoil, and political crises in the run-up to the delayed February 2024 elections.

Nawaz Sharif stands as the leading candidate for the premiership, rivaling the incumbent Imran Khan, who, according to recent reports, remains incarcerated.

Imran Khan, 83, has been in detention for three months amid investigations into allegations of disclosing state secrets post his removal from office.

His legal woes have mounted, facing over 150 cases including charges of terrorism, contempt of court, blasphemy, incitement, and a three-year sentence on corruption charges.

It’s important to note that this information might not be fully reflective of the current political climate, as the situation could have evolved significantly since the last available data in early 2022.

The rapidly changing nature of Pakistani politics suggests the need for real-time, credible sources to gauge the present scenario accurately.
