ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice will hold public hearings on the formation of new provinces.
Separately, the committee will look at the appointment of judges and the control of suo moto power, according to sources.
On Wednesday, the committee convened at Parliament House in Islamabad under the supervision of Senator Ali Zafar to discuss several Private Members Bills. The chairman expressed concern for the absence of the minister, who he claimed should have been present to explain the government’s position on a key constitutional change.
