After a protracted illness, Firdous Ashiq Awan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), lost his mother in the federal capital.
He took his last breath while she was a patient at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Lawmakers, journalists, and other people attended her funeral prayers in the nation’s capital.
Her remains have been moved to Sialkot, where tomorrow (Dec. 20) her funeral prayers will also be offered before she is laid to rest.
As Firdous Ashiq Awan shared the sad news on social media, people who had worked with her in various capacities during the PTI administration offered their condolences.
