Pakistan Petrol Price Falls to Rs381.14, Diesel to Rs389.27

Oil Prices Drop 15% After Iran-US Ceasefire – Pakistan Relief Delayed

Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan have fallen after the government announced a fresh reduction, bringing petrol to Rs381.14 per litre and high-speed diesel to Rs389.27.

Under the revised rates, petrol is cheaper by Rs5.16 per litre, while diesel has been reduced by Rs7.69. The new prices took effect on October 20, 2026, according to the Petroleum Division’s notification reported by Business Recorder.

The reduction comes under the government’s daily fuel pricing mechanism, which allows rates to be adjusted more frequently in response to changes in the international oil market.

New Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan

The latest revision brings some relief to motorists and businesses that depend on fuel for daily travel and transportation.

FuelPrevious priceReductionNew price
PetrolRs386.30Rs5.16Rs381.14
High-speed dieselRs396.96Rs7.69Rs389.27

The revised rates apply from October 20, according to the published notification. Consumers should check the latest announcement from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for subsequent changes.

Daily Fuel Price Changes Continue

Pakistan introduced a daily fuel price review mechanism to reflect movements in international petroleum prices more quickly. Under the system, OGRA publishes updated rates through its price publication portal.

The previous reported rates were Rs386.30 per litre for petrol and Rs396.96 for high-speed diesel. The latest adjustment reduces the cost of filling a vehicle, although the actual saving depends on the amount purchased.

For example, buying 40 litres of petrol at the revised rate costs Rs206.40 less than at the previous price. A 40-litre purchase of diesel costs Rs307.60 less.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Have Risen Since July

Despite the latest cuts, fuel prices remain substantially higher than they were before the daily pricing system began.

The historical figures provided show petrol at Rs310.71 per litre and diesel at Rs323.30 before daily revisions began in July. Compared with those starting rates, petrol is now Rs70.43 more expensive per litre, while diesel has risen by Rs65.97.

The latest reduction therefore eases the immediate cost for consumers but does not reverse the overall increase recorded during the period.

What Motorists Should Know

Motorists should use the latest notified rate when checking fuel costs and look for further official updates, as the daily pricing mechanism allows prices to change again.

The October 20 reduction is confirmed in published reports citing the Petroleum Division’s notification. The amount and timing of any subsequent change will depend on the next official price announcement.
