British-Pakistani consultant gynecologist and robotic surgeon Dr Amer Raza has achieved a new milestone in Britain after leading a program that has completed more than 400 single-port robotic gynecological procedures.
Dr Raza, a graduate of Nishtar Medical College in Multan, serves as Lead Consultant for Endometriosis and Robotic Surgery at Cromwell Hospital in London.
Under his leadership, his team has expanded the use of single-port robotic technology beyond routine gynecological operations to complex procedures involving severe endometriosis.
Single-Port Robotic Surgery
Single-port robotic surgery differs from conventional robotic procedures by allowing surgeons to operate through a single entry point rather than making several abdominal incisions.
The approach uses a camera and multiple robotic instruments inserted through the same access point, allowing surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures while reducing the number of external incisions.
Dr Raza and his team have used the technology for increasingly complex gynecological operations, including challenging endometriosis cases.

Surgeons From Around the World Visit Program
The London-based program has also developed into a training and learning center for robotic gynecological surgery.
More than 100 surgeons from the UK and other countries have reportedly visited the program to observe complex procedures and gain experience with single-port robotic technology.
The milestone has also added to Dr Raza’s professional recognition in robotic surgery and advanced endometriosis treatment.
He has received two Master Surgeon accreditations from the US-based Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), one in Robotic Surgery and another in Advanced Endometriosis Care.
Dr Raza is reportedly the only consultant in Europe to hold both accreditations.
Previous Surgical Record
The latest achievement follows another milestone involving Dr Raza three years ago.
At Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, he led a team that performed 12 major gynecological operations in a single day, setting another record at the time.
His more than 25 years of professional experience in the UK have included a continued focus on gynecology, endometriosis and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr Amer Raza Plans Collaboration With Pakistan
Despite his long professional career in Britain, Dr Raza continues to maintain links with Pakistan.
He has said he plans to work with partners in Pakistan to support the introduction of advanced robotic surgery and modern treatment techniques.
