The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has instructed officers and employees at its headquarters to remain in the office until the Director General (DG) leaves, unless they have obtained prior permission to depart.
The office order was issued on the directions of newly appointed NCCIA DG Ali Nasir Rizvi and signed by a deputy director. It cited “grave concern” over officials leaving the workplace while the DG was still present.
Staff Required to Seek Permission
According to the order, Rizvi expressed concern over instances in which officers and employees left the office while he remained at the headquarters.
The directive states that staff members cannot leave for home while the DG is still in the office. Employees who need to leave after official working hours must obtain permission from the DG beforehand.
The order applies to officers and employees working at the NCCIA headquarters.
Directive Issued to Maintain Staff Presence
Officials said the measure is intended to ensure staff availability, maintain discipline and support the smooth handling of official responsibilities.
The directive comes shortly after Rizvi assumed charge as head of the agency following his appointment as NCCIA director general.
Ali Nasir Rizvi’s Previous Role
Before joining the NCCIA, Ali Nasir Rizvi served as Inspector General of Islamabad Police, taking charge in April 2024.
During his tenure, he was responsible for policing, security and law-and-order matters in the federal capital.
His appointment as NCCIA chief followed a wider reshuffle involving Islamabad’s policing and cybercrime investigation structure. Captain (Retd.) Sohail Chaudhry has since taken charge as Islamabad Police chief.
