Punjab AI Syllabus for Grades 1-5 Awaits Notification

Punjab AI Syllabus for Grades 1-5 Awaits Notification

Punjab has completed the Artificial Intelligence (AI) syllabus for students from grades 1 to 5, but its official notification is still pending, delaying the preparation and printing of AI textbooks for schools.

The delay means publishers cannot begin printing the new AI textbooks for Punjab schools until the curriculum is formally notified by the provincial authorities.

AI Textbook Printing Awaits Official Approval

Publishers have urged the Punjab government to issue the notification at the earliest so that AI textbooks can be prepared and made available before the start of the new academic year.

They noted that only around six months remain before the new academic session begins, leaving limited time for textbook development, printing and distribution.

The formal notification is therefore expected to be an important step toward implementing the new AI curriculum in primary schools across Punjab.

AI to Become Compulsory Subject Up to Grade 5

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has already announced that artificial intelligence will become a compulsory part of the school curriculum up to grade 5.

The move is aimed at introducing students to AI concepts and emerging technologies at an early stage of their education.

However, the provincial Education Department has clarified that the completed AI curriculum will be released for printing only after receiving approval from the chief minister.

Punjab AI Curriculum Awaits Final Notification

Until the required approval and notification are issued, publishers will remain unable to proceed with the official printing of AI textbooks.

The timing of the notification could therefore determine whether the new Punjab AI curriculum for grades 1 to 5 is fully implemented with textbooks available when the next academic year begins.
