SereneAir Denies Shutdown, Aims to Resume Flights by Year End

SereneAir has rejected a recent report claiming it has completed the process of shutting down its business operations in Pakistan, saying the airline remains hopeful of resuming flights by the end of this year.

In a statement provided to The Asian Mirror, the airline said it is actively working toward resuming operations and expects to restart flights before 2026 ends.

Airline Pushes Back on Winding-Up Claims

The statement was issued in response to an earlier report claiming SereneAir had closed its city and airport offices across Pakistan and had completed winding up its operations, including selling off its local assets. SereneAir disputed that characterization directly.

Asset Sales Framed as Cost-Cutting, Not Closure

According to the airline, it is currently identifying and salvaging end-of-life assets and surplus facilities it no longer requires as part of broader cost-saving and restructuring efforts.

SereneAir said these measures are intended to reduce costs and optimize the resources it currently has available — not to wind down the business entirely.

Shareholders Reportedly Considering Fresh Investment

SereneAir also said its shareholders are considering an additional investment in the company, which it said would strengthen its financial position and help settle outstanding liabilities.

The airline has not given a specific date for when flights will resume but maintains that it remains hopeful of restarting operations before the end of the year.
