Punjab Launches “Maryam Ko Batayein” Helpline 1000 for Ramadan Financial Relief

The Punjab Cabinet has approved key policy decisions in education, agriculture, industry, and governance reforms aimed at improving service delivery and economic activity across the province. The meeting was chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

During the session, the cabinet also paid tribute to Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir. The tribute was linked to the completion of one year of what officials described as a “struggle for truth.” Members of the cabinet felicitated the leadership and acknowledged their roles on the occasion.

Summer vacations announced in Punjab schools

The cabinet formally approved summer vacations for schools across Punjab. According to the decision, holidays will begin on May 22 and continue until August 24.

The move sets a uniform vacation schedule for both public and private educational institutions in the province. Education authorities have been directed to ensure compliance with the notification.

Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar scheme launched

The Punjab Cabinet also approved the launch of the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” scheme on easy terms for residents of Cholistan and Kutch regions.

Officials said around 30,000 land lots have been identified under the programme. The initiative aims to provide agricultural and employment opportunities to local citizens.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed authorities to ensure complete transparency. She said citizens should be able to access full details of the scheme through a single digital platform.

Insurance and industrial reforms approved

The cabinet gave formal approval for the establishment of what officials described as the “fastest insurance company,” aimed at improving financial services and coverage in the province.

In another major decision, approval was granted for the expansion of 200 acres in Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhupura. The expansion is expected to boost industrial investment and job creation.

The cabinet also approved the implementation of an Axle Load Management System in Punjab. The system is designed to regulate transport loads and improve road infrastructure durability.

Chief Minister stresses industrial facilitation

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the government would fully support investors and industrialists in Punjab. She encouraged business owners to proceed with construction plans without delay.

She directed that all approvals, including NOCs, should be processed without unnecessary hurdles. She emphasized that ease of doing business must be ensured in practice, not just in policy statements.

“There should be no obstacles or problems in approvals for industry,” she said.

She further warned against delays in financial processes. She stated that expenditures must be reported in advance and all liabilities must be cleared on time.

“I will not tolerate the mentality of burdening the government with liabilities,” she said.

She also stressed timely payments by the government for completed work.

“It is unacceptable that the government gets work done and does not pay,” she added.

The chief minister reiterated that financial discipline, transparency, and timely payments remain top priorities of the provincial administration.
